Animal Advocates Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals through legal advocacy, humane education initiatives, and animal rescue.  AAA rescues animals from high-kill city and county shelters, provides them with necessary veterinary care, and places the animals in safe and loving homes.  Many of these animals have suffered from neglect, mental and/or physical abuse, and physical injuries requiring surgery and rehabilitation.  Our organization also works in tandem with other non-profit groups to implement spay/neuter, humane education and other programs designed to reduce the number of animals being euthanized at our shelters.  These programs include free dog training classes, spay/neuter education, shelter networking days, and mobile adoption events.  Additionally, AAA engages in legal advocacy to support the aggressive prosecution of perpetrators of animal abuse under applicable anti-cruelty statutes.  Nola volunteers with Animal Advocates Alliance and personally knows all the animals they save and help.  This is a Wonderful Animal Rescue organization to support.

Best Friends Animal Society is a wonderful organization that  is trying to make "No More Homeless Pets. Campaign". They have animal sanctuaries and just opened a NO Kill Shelter in LA.

Best Friends saves dogs and cats who were considered "un-adoptable" into good homes, and to reduce the number of unwanted pets through effective spay and neuter programs.  Since then, the number of dogs and cats being destroyed in shelters has fallen to approximately 5 million a year.  There has been much progress, but there is still much more to do.!  Pup My Ride program offered by Best Friends Animal Society, transports dogs from the High Kill Shelters to No Kill Shelters and Animal Sanctuaries.  On March 27th, 45 dogs were transferred to the Oregon Humane Society and are now given at a chance at life. Nola volunteers at the Baldwin Park Shelter and personally see's how Best Friends saves animals This is a Wonderful Animal Rescue organization to support.

The Painted Turtle is the sixth addition to Paul Newman’s family of Hole in the Wall Camps for seriously ill children. It is also the only multi-disease camp and family care center of its kind on the West Coast. Through educational, therapeutic, safe, and just plain fun summer camp and year-round programs, The Painted Turtle provides a life-changing experience to children whose daily struggles often diminish both their desire to be well and their ability to lead a rich, productive life.   One million children in California with chronic illnesses, our needs assessment revealed that there are over 17,500 who are unable to attend summer camp due to their medical needs. The Painted Turtle provides these children and their families with an empowering, renewing experience completely free of charge.

Since nearly 40% of our campers are from low income families, The Painted Turtle and our supporters give these children the gift of a lifetime, a gift of laughter, fun, and personal growth that they would otherwise not be able to experience. This gift has the potential to improve both the quality and quantity of our campers’ lives, because what makes them stronger, happier and healthier at The Painted Turtle, is exactly what they take with them into every challenge they face for the rest of their lives.
